ABOUT Yoshitomo Nara shirts

In 2009, legendary Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara was in New York to set up an opening of his show. The evening before the opening Nara stopped into Niagara to have a drink with some friends. Someone suggested that Nara draw on the walls, paint markers were procured and the rest is art history.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown New York in March, bars remain closed and many are in danger of not being able to afford to reopen. Yoshitomo Nara has been extremely generous in allowing Niagara to print a very limited run of some of his Niagara drawings (7 in total) on t-shirts and sweatshirts. This will help the bar keep its doors open, and people can enjoy this creative hub for years to come.
